Preservation Risk Score Likelihood x Impact Calculator
Compute caller calibrated marginal expected losses and review flags; summed losses assume compatible additive outcomes and do not combine event probabilities or establish preservation safety.
Description
Expected preservation loss combines a hazard probability with the loss if that hazard occurs.
Expected preservation loss combines a hazard probability with the loss if that hazard occurs. Keeping separate hazards visible avoids confusing a sum of expected losses with a probability that any hazard occurs.1
Compute caller calibrated marginal expected losses and review flags; summed losses assume compatible additive outcomes and do not combine event probabilities or establish preservation safety.
When to use Preservation Risk Score Likelihood x Impact Calculator
Use this tool to compute caller calibrated marginal expected losses and review flags; summed losses assume compatible additive outcomes and do not combine event probabilities or establish preservation safety.
Prepare the inventory, measurements or policy dates for the collection and reporting period. Confirm units, record order and any independently established thresholds or permissions.
How to use Preservation Risk Score Likelihood x Impact Calculator and understand its results
- Prepare the inventory, measurements or policy dates for the collection and reporting period. Confirm units, record order and any independently established thresholds or permissions.
- Enter callerHazardProbabilities, callerLossValuesIfHazardOccurs, callerRiskReviewThreshold using the field table and calculation rules, then run the tool.
- Read expectedLossByHazard, aboveCallerRiskReviewFlags, sumOfDeclaredExpectedLosses. The explanation below defines the units, signs, ordering and any flags or placeholder values.
- If the tool reports an input issue, correct the values and run it again. Apply the stated assumptions when interpreting a successfully returned result.
| Input field | Meaning | Value type; see rules below | Requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| callerHazardProbabilities | Caller hazard probabilities | list of number | Required |
| callerLossValuesIfHazardOccurs | Caller loss values if hazard occurs | list of number | Required |
| callerRiskReviewThreshold | Caller risk review threshold | number | Required |
Pair hazard probabilities in [0,1] with nonnegative loss values on one comparable basis, and supply a nonnegative review threshold. Return each expected loss, strict above-threshold binary flags and their sum. A value equal to the threshold does not receive an above-threshold flag.
Paired lists must be nonempty and have equal lengths.
expectedLoss_i = probability_i × lossIfOccurs_i; total = Σ expectedLoss_i Units, indexing, boundary conditions and exceptional cases are defined in the calculation rules above.
| Output field | Meaning | Value type |
|---|---|---|
| expectedLossByHazard | Expected loss by hazard | list of number |
| aboveCallerRiskReviewFlags | Above caller risk review flags | list of number |
| sumOfDeclaredExpectedLosses | Sum of declared expected losses | number |

} Limitations and assumptions
The probabilities, valuation and threshold are caller estimates. Additive losses require compatible outcomes and must not double-count overlapping consequences. No preservation safety verdict or combined event probability is calculated.
Numeric inputs must be finite. Follow the calculation-specific rules for overflow, underflow and exceptional cases. Numeric lists are limited to 100,000 entries; the rules above may require smaller limits. Missing required fields, extra fields, wrong value types and violations of the calculation rules are input errors.
