Description
Label supplied gas temperature and pressure reference conditions.
Aquatic measurements depend on depth datums, effective sampling area, layer weights and concentration definitions. Secchi pair averages differ from a full optical model, and particulate-by-difference values depend on comparable total/dissolved measurements. A nominal rectangular sampling volume does not establish actual filtered effort or detection.
Label supplied gas temperature and pressure reference conditions.
When to use this tool
Use Aquatic Gas Temperature Reference Label when you already have gasName, temperatureCelsius, referencePressurePa and need to label supplied gas temperature and pressure reference conditions.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter gasName, temperatureCelsius, referencePressurePa. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read label. Use the output convention below.
Require gasName nonempty, temperatureCelsius>-273.15 and referencePressurePa>0; display gas and conditions.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| gasName | Gas Name | Required. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| temperatureCelsius | Temperature Celsius | Required. Finite number; strictly above -273.15. |
| referencePressurePa | Reference Pressure Pa | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| label | Label | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Pressure is an absolute reference when used for gas state. No solubility, gas amount, saturation, standard state or actual sample condition is determined.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Review original field and laboratory records with the complete survey or process model. Include calibration, temporal coverage, sampling efficiency and uncertainty when local rates, depth shifts or labels cannot establish the aquatic quantity of interest.
