Description
Return fish/plant allocated areas under an overlap policy.
Aquaponic records allocate supplied bed area, tank volume, shared resources and observation support. A ratio or target gap depends on what is counted once and on the caller’s chosen target; it does not select a stocking, feeding or plant-production recommendation.
Return fish/plant allocated areas under an overlap policy.
When to use this tool
Use Fish Plant Area Allocation Share when checking the stated aquaponic allocation, target or record-support convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter fishArea, plantArea, sharedArea, splitSharedEqually. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read uniqueArea, fishAllocated, plantAllocated, plantShare. Use the output convention below.
Return fish/plant allocated areas under an overlap policy. Require valid nonnegative areas and positive union; when splitSharedEqually subtract half overlap from each, otherwise retain it for fish and subtract it all from plant; plantShare uses union.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| fishArea | Fish Area | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| plantArea | Plant Area | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| sharedArea | Shared Area | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| splitSharedEqually | True allocates half of overlap to each branch; false assigns all overlap to fish. | Required. Boolean. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| uniqueArea | Unique Area | Required. Finite number. |
| fishAllocated | Fish Allocated | Required. Finite number. |
| plantAllocated | Plant Allocated | Required. Finite number. |
| plantShare | Plant Share | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- The overlap allocation is a bookkeeping convention, not physical separation or a suitable system-design recommendation.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use verified system records and qualified aquaculture/agronomic assessment for actual stocking, feeding, plant requirements or operational decisions.
