Description
Return nominal rectangular pond-bottom and sloping-side liner areas.
Tank geometry, exchange and equipment budgets use explicit volume, flow, mixing and efficiency assumptions. Ideal complete mixing differs from replacing distinct water portions, and energy usage differs from power. Nominal calculations do not establish actual oxygenation, animal welfare or safe installation.
Return nominal rectangular pond-bottom and sloping-side liner areas.
When to use this tool
Use Pond Liner Sidewall Area Term when checking the stated aquaculture geometry, exchange or equipment term.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter bottomWidth, bottomLength, depth, slopeRunPerRise. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read sideArea, bottomArea, totalArea. Use the output convention below.
Return nominal rectangular pond-bottom and sloping-side liner areas. Require nonnegative dimensions/depth/slopeRunPerRise; bottom = width*length, side = 2*depth*sqrt(1+slope²)*(width+length+2*depth*slope), total sums them.1

} Limitations and assumptions
- This assumes a uniform four-sided rectangular frustum; folds, seams, anchoring, terrain and safe structural design are not included.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
