Description
Return aeration power/energy per volume.
Tank geometry, exchange and equipment budgets use explicit volume, flow, mixing and efficiency assumptions. Ideal complete mixing differs from replacing distinct water portions, and energy usage differs from power. Nominal calculations do not establish actual oxygenation, animal welfare or safe installation.
Return aeration power/energy per volume.
When to use this tool
Use Aquaculture Aeration Power Volume Basis when checking the stated aquaculture geometry, exchange or equipment term.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter inputPower, volume, operatingHours. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read powerPerVolume, energy, energyPerVolume. Use the output convention below.
Return aeration power/energy per volume. Require inputPower/operatingHours >= 0 and volume > 0; energy = power*hours, divide power and energy by volume.1
The watt is a unit of power and the joule a unit of energy. A watt-hour equals 3600 joules; multiplying watts by supplied hours does not directly produce joules.2
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| inputPower | Power in watts when energy is to be reported in watt-hours. | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| volume | Volume in the unit implied by the stated geometry; no implicit unit conversion. | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| operatingHours | Operating Hours | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| powerPerVolume | Power Per Volume | Required. Finite number. |
| energy | inputPower*operatingHours, in Wh for W and hours; not joules. | Required. Finite number. |
| energyPerVolume | Energy Per Volume | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Watts with hours give watt-hours, not joules; oxygen-transfer performance, animal requirements and safe operation are not determined.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
