Description
Return dissolved-oxygen inventory and supplied-target mass gap.
Aquaculture material budgets distinguish as-fed mass, dry mass, specific energy and nutrient fractions. Offered feed, recovered feed and estimated intake are different quantities. Arithmetic balances do not determine biological utilization, an appropriate diet, disease status or a safe feeding recommendation.
Return dissolved-oxygen inventory and supplied-target mass gap.
When to use this tool
Use Dissolved Oxygen Tank Mass Term when checking the stated aquaculture feed, material or composition basis.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter concentration, volume, unitFactor, targetConcentration. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read oxygenMass, targetMassGap. Use the output convention below.
Return dissolved-oxygen inventory and supplied-target mass gap. Require nonnegative concentration/volume/target and unitFactor > 0; oxygenMass = concentration*volume*factor, targetMassGap = (target-concentration)*volume*factor.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| concentration | Concentration | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| volume | Volume in the unit implied by the stated geometry; no implicit unit conversion. | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| unitFactor | Unit Factor | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| targetConcentration | Caller-supplied oxygen concentration reference; not a selected welfare or safety threshold. | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| oxygenMass | Oxygen Mass | Required. Finite number. |
| targetMassGap | Target Mass Gap | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- The target is supplied; no oxygen demand, transfer kinetics, recommended intervention or safe species condition is established.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use verified feed and animal records, representative measurements and qualified aquaculture/veterinary advice for actual nutrition, welfare or water-quality decisions.
