Pasture Animal Unit Caller Equivalence Tool

Sum explicit caller-supplied animal-unit equivalents, without selecting grazing capacity or husbandry rules.

Description

Return caller-equivalent animal units and area density.

Animal-production budgets depend on measured quantities, population exposure and wet/dry or yield conventions. A per-animal quantity or material balance can reconcile records without establishing an appropriate housing, water or production target. Biological variation and welfare require independent assessment.

Return caller-equivalent animal units and area density.

When to use this tool

Use Pasture Animal Unit Caller Equivalence when checking the stated animal-record quantity, allocation or material basis.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter counts, equivalences, area. Follow any array-alignment requirements below. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read animalUnits, unitsPerArea. Use the output convention below.

Return caller-equivalent animal units and area density. Require aligned nonnegative whole counts and nonnegative equivalences and area > 0; units = dot(counts, equivalences), unitsPerArea divides by area.1

Input fieldMeaning and unitsAccepted input
countsAligned nonnegative whole animal counts.Required. Array of safe integer; maximum items 256.
equivalencesAligned nonnegative real caller-supplied animal-unit weights; fractional weights are allowed.Required. Array of finite number; maximum items 256.
areaArea in the common squared-length unit specified above.Required. Finite number; strictly above 0.
Output fieldInterpretationReturned shape
animalUnitsAnimal UnitsRequired. Finite number.
unitsPerAreaUnits Per AreaRequired. Finite number.

Limitations and assumptions

  • Equivalences are supplied weights, not universal species conversion or a safe stocking recommendation.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use verified representative records and qualified husbandry/veterinary assessment for actual animal welfare, facilities or production decisions.
