Description
Expand sampled animal weights to a total estimate.
Animal observations distinguish recorded events, classification tokens, count expectations and measurement residuals. A normalized score or supplied activity transition is not a diagnosis or validated behavioral interpretation. Unknown records and incomplete observation windows must remain explicit.
Expand sampled animal weights to a total estimate.
When to use this tool
Use Animal Weight Sample Expansion when checking the stated animal observation, score, count or time convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter sampleWeights, totalAnimals. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read sampleMean, expandedWeight. Use the output convention below.
Expand sampled animal weights to a total estimate. Require nonempty nonnegative sampleWeights and whole totalAnimals >= sample length; sampleMean = sum/count, expandedWeight = mean*totalAnimals.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| sampleWeights | Sample Weights | Required. Array of finite number; maximum items 256. |
| totalAnimals | Total Animals | Required. Safe integer; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| sampleMean | Sample Mean | Required. Finite number. |
| expandedWeight | Expanded Weight | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- The sample must be representative; actual cohort count, sampling uncertainty and safe stocking are not inferred.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Inspect the original animal and observation records, use an appropriate statistical model and consult qualified veterinary/husbandry professionals for health or welfare decisions.
