Description
Calculate supplied PTO/engine rotational-speed ratio.
Farm-machine records distinguish shaft speeds, nominal widths, diametral clearances, field logs and modular counters. A one-wrap counter difference cannot reveal multiple wraps or a reset, and a count-based coverage fraction does not verify actual operation. Supplied geometry and ratios do not establish safe or suitable settings.
Calculate supplied PTO/engine rotational-speed ratio.
When to use this tool
Use Tractor PTO Speed Ratio when you already have ptoRevolutionsPerMinute, engineRevolutionsPerMinute and need to calculate supplied PTO/engine rotational-speed ratio.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter ptoRevolutionsPerMinute, engineRevolutionsPerMinute. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read ptoPerEngineRatio. Use the output convention below.
Require PTO rpm>=0 and engine rpm>0; divide PTO by engine.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| ptoRevolutionsPerMinute | Pto Revolutions Per Minute | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| engineRevolutionsPerMinute | Engine Revolutions Per Minute | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| ptoPerEngineRatio | Pto Per Engine Ratio | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Both are supplied shaft speeds rather than a gear-tooth count. No actual machine, load, compatible shaft speed, guard or safe operation is assessed.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use calibrated machine, field and maintenance records with the complete equipment assessment. Check operating conditions and applicable requirements before using local counts, conversions or clearances in an actual task.
