Machinery Idling Fuel Share

Calculate the share of explicit total fuel attributed to idling on compatible volume units.

Description

Calculate supplied idling-fuel share of total fuel volume.

Farm-machine records distinguish shaft speeds, nominal widths, diametral clearances, field logs and modular counters. A one-wrap counter difference cannot reveal multiple wraps or a reset, and a count-based coverage fraction does not verify actual operation. Supplied geometry and ratios do not establish safe or suitable settings.

Calculate supplied idling-fuel share of total fuel volume.

When to use this tool

Use Machinery Idling Fuel Share when you already have idlingFuelVolume, totalFuelVolume and need to calculate supplied idling-fuel share of total fuel volume.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter idlingFuelVolume, totalFuelVolume. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read fraction, remainder. Use the output convention below.

Require totalFuelVolume>0 and idlingFuelVolume in [0,total]; return idling/total and total-idling.1

idlingFuelVolumeIdling Fuel VolumeRequired. Finite number; minimum 0.
totalFuelVolumeTotal Fuel VolumeRequired. Finite number; strictly above 0.

Limitations and assumptions

  • Use comparable volume and period definitions. No actual fuel use, engine condition, avoided emissions or operating recommendation is determined.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use calibrated machine, field and maintenance records with the complete equipment assessment. Check operating conditions and applicable requirements before using local counts, conversions or clearances in an actual task.
