Implement Pin Hole Clearance

Subtract explicit pin and hole diameters, preserving interference as negative clearance without judging mechanical fit.

Loading tool…

Description

Calculate supplied pin-hole diametral and radial clearances.

Farm-machine records distinguish shaft speeds, nominal widths, diametral clearances, field logs and modular counters. A one-wrap counter difference cannot reveal multiple wraps or a reset, and a count-based coverage fraction does not verify actual operation. Supplied geometry and ratios do not establish safe or suitable settings.

Calculate supplied pin-hole diametral and radial clearances.

When to use this tool

Use Implement Pin Hole Clearance when you already have holeDiameter, pinDiameter and need to calculate supplied pin-hole diametral and radial clearances.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter holeDiameter, pinDiameter. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read diametralClearance, radialClearance. Use the output convention below.

Require hole and pin diameters>=0; return hole-pin and half that difference.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Diameters rather than radii are supplied. Negative interference is retained; no tolerance class, concentricity, loading, fit suitability or safe connection is established.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use calibrated machine, field and maintenance records with the complete equipment assessment. Check operating conditions and applicable requirements before using local counts, conversions or clearances in an actual task.
