Combine Grain Loss Frame Area Factor Tool

Calculate combine grain loss frame area factor from explicit caller-supplied inputs.

Loading tool…

Description

Return observed grain-loss mass per sampled frame area.

Farm records depend on counter resets, measurement calibration, moisture basis and elapsed-time conventions. A corrected count or maintenance remainder reconciles supplied data without detecting arbitrary resets, measuring actual calibration quality or authorizing equipment use. A rollover flag represents a specific accounting assumption.

Return observed grain-loss mass per sampled frame area.

When to use this tool

Use Combine Grain Loss Frame Area Factor when checking the stated machinery record, counter, moisture or timing convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter count, frameArea, kernelMass, frames. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read massPerArea. Use the output convention below.

Return observed grain-loss mass per sampled frame area. Require nonnegative whole count, frames >= 1, frameArea > 0 and kernelMass >= 0; massPerArea = count*kernelMass/(area*frames).1

frameAreaFrame AreaRequired. Finite number; strictly above 0.
kernelMassKernel MassRequired. Finite number; minimum 0.

Limitations and assumptions

  • Count is total over all frames; sample representativeness, actual loss cause and appropriate harvesting settings are not inferred.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Inspect original logs, verified calibration and manufacturer service requirements for actual maintenance, yield or operational decisions.
