Agriculture Spray Calibration Nozzle Flow
Compare actual nozzle catch flow to caller-target liquid application, speed and nozzle spacing, retaining signed deviation; target is supplied and no pesticide dose, label compliance, drift or operator safety is inferred.
Description
Nozzle-flow calibration compares measured liquid delivery with the flow implied by a supplied application target.
Nozzle-flow calibration compares measured liquid delivery with the flow implied by a supplied application target. Signed relative errors reveal both underdelivery and overdelivery.1
Compare actual nozzle catch flow to caller-target liquid application, speed and nozzle spacing, retaining signed deviation; target is supplied and no pesticide dose, label compliance, drift or operator safety is inferred.
When to use Agriculture Spray Calibration Nozzle Flow
Use this tool to compare actual nozzle catch flow to caller-target liquid application, speed and nozzle spacing, retaining signed deviation; target is supplied and no pesticide dose, label compliance, drift or operator safety is inferred.
Prepare the field, crop, soil or material measurements for the intended period. Confirm units, dry/wet bases and supplied parameters; keep paired observations aligned.
How to use Agriculture Spray Calibration Nozzle Flow and understand its results
- Prepare the field, crop, soil or material measurements for the intended period. Confirm units, dry/wet bases and supplied parameters; keep paired observations aligned.
- Enter nozzleCollectedVolumesLiters, collectionDurationsMinutes, callerTargetApplicationLitersPerHa, travelSpeedKmPerHour, nozzleSpacingM, callerRelativeFlowTolerance using the field table and calculation rules, then run the tool.
- Read measuredNozzleFlowsLitersPerMinute, targetNozzleFlowLitersPerMinute, relativeTargetFlowErrors, outsideCallerFlowToleranceFlags. The explanation below defines the units, signs, ordering and any flags or placeholder values.
- If the tool reports an input issue, correct the values and run it again. Apply the stated assumptions when interpreting a successfully returned result.
| Input field | Meaning | Value type; see rules below | Requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| nozzleCollectedVolumesLiters | Nozzle collected volumes liters | list of number | Required |
| collectionDurationsMinutes | Collection durations minutes | list of number | Required |
| callerTargetApplicationLitersPerHa | Caller target application liters per ha | number | Required |
| travelSpeedKmPerHour | Travel speed km per hour | number | Required |
| nozzleSpacingM | Nozzle spacing m | number | Required |
| callerRelativeFlowTolerance | Caller relative flow tolerance | number | Required |
Pair nonnegative caught liters with positive collection minutes. Enter positive target application, travel speed and spacing, plus nonnegative relative tolerance. Return measured flows, target flow, signed errors and binary flags for absolute error strictly beyond tolerance. Equality passes the tolerance check.
Paired lists must be nonempty and have equal lengths.
targetL/min = targetL/ha × speedKm/hour × spacingM/600; relativeError = measuredFlow/targetFlow−1 Units, indexing, boundary conditions and exceptional cases are defined in the calculation rules above.
| Output field | Meaning | Value type |
|---|---|---|
| measuredNozzleFlowsLitersPerMinute | Measured nozzle flows liters per minute | list of number |
| targetNozzleFlowLitersPerMinute | Target nozzle flow liters per minute | number |
| relativeTargetFlowErrors | Relative target flow errors | list of number |
| outsideCallerFlowToleranceFlags | Outside caller flow tolerance flags | list of number |

} Limitations and assumptions
The target is independently supplied. This checks liquid flow rather than pesticide dose, label compliance, drift or operator safety, and does not establish a suitable application rate.
Numeric inputs must be finite. Follow the calculation-specific rules for overflow, underflow and exceptional cases. Numeric lists are limited to 100,000 entries; the rules above may require smaller limits. Missing required fields, extra fields, wrong value types and violations of the calculation rules are input errors.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use Agriculture Fertilizer Spreader Calibration: Calibrate observed spreader deposition from catcher masses/areas/passes and represented lateral widths; not a target nutrient rate, uniformity coefficient or a broadcast recommendation. For a complementary task, use Agriculture Sprinkler Precipitation Rate: Convert measured catch-can volumes/openings to local sprinkler precipitation rates and weight by represented ground area; no ideal spacing/discharge uniformity assumption.
