Agriculture Crop Yield Per Hectare
Pool actual marketable harvest inventories by harvested area, retaining plot yields instead of averaging unequal areas; masses must share a declared moisture/grade basis.
Description
Observed yield per hectare combines marketable mass with the area actually harvested.
Observed yield per hectare combines marketable mass with the area actually harvested. Pooling unequal plots by total mass and total area differs from averaging plot yields.1
Pool actual marketable harvest inventories by harvested area, retaining plot yields instead of averaging unequal areas; masses must share a declared moisture/grade basis.
When to use Agriculture Crop Yield Per Hectare
Use this tool to pool actual marketable harvest inventories by harvested area, retaining plot yields instead of averaging unequal areas; masses must share a declared moisture/grade basis.
Prepare the field, crop, soil or material measurements for the intended period. Confirm units, dry/wet bases and supplied parameters; keep paired observations aligned.
How to use Agriculture Crop Yield Per Hectare and understand its results
- Prepare the field, crop, soil or material measurements for the intended period. Confirm units, dry/wet bases and supplied parameters; keep paired observations aligned.
- Enter harvestedMarketableMassKg, harvestedAreasHa using the field table and calculation rules, then run the tool.
- Read plotMarketableYieldsKgPerHa, pooledMarketableYieldKgPerHa. The explanation below defines the units, signs, ordering and any flags or placeholder values.
- If the tool reports an input issue, correct the values and run it again. Apply the stated assumptions when interpreting a successfully returned result.
| Input field | Meaning | Value type; see rules below | Requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| harvestedMarketableMassKg | Harvested marketable mass kg | list of number | Required |
| harvestedAreasHa | Harvested areas ha | list of number | Required |
Pair nonnegative marketable harvested kg with positive harvested hectares. Return each plot's kg/ha and pooled kg/ha. Zero output is valid and no planted-area substitution is made.
Paired lists must be nonempty and have equal lengths.
plotYield_i = marketableKg_i/harvestedHa_i; pooledYield = ΣmarketableKg/ΣharvestedHa Units, indexing, boundary conditions and exceptional cases are defined in the calculation rules above.
| Output field | Meaning | Value type |
|---|---|---|
| plotMarketableYieldsKgPerHa | Plot marketable yields kg per ha | list of number |
| pooledMarketableYieldKgPerHa | Pooled marketable yield kg per ha | number |

} Limitations and assumptions
Masses must share a moisture and grade basis, and sampled plots must represent the intended population. The tool does not forecast yield or infer lost harvest area.
Numeric inputs must be finite. Follow the calculation-specific rules for overflow, underflow and exceptional cases. Numeric lists are limited to 100,000 entries; the rules above may require smaller limits. Missing required fields, extra fields, wrong value types and violations of the calculation rules are input errors.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use Agriculture Harvest Moisture Adjustment: Account harvested lots with differing wet-basis moisture and explicitly retained dry matter before reporting-basis mass; unlike standalone moisture conversion, actual graded/handling dry-matter loss is separately conserved. For a complementary task, use Agriculture Farm Budget Gross Margin: Account explicit farm sold-product lines and variable cost items into signed enterprise/per-area gross margin; excludes fixed overhead, financing and unsold inventory, not guaranteed profitability.
