Agriculture Aeration Airflow Rate
Aggregate measured nonoverlapping outlet-section air delivery and normalize actual grain mass against caller criterion; no fan curve, uniform speed assumption or grain-storage condition guarantee.
Description
Measured airflow can be integrated over separate outlet sections and normalized by actual grain mass.
Measured airflow can be integrated over separate outlet sections and normalized by actual grain mass. This differs from assuming uniform outlet speed or using a fan's nominal rating.1
Aggregate measured nonoverlapping outlet-section air delivery and normalize actual grain mass against caller criterion; no fan curve, uniform speed assumption or grain-storage condition guarantee.
When to use Agriculture Aeration Airflow Rate
Use this tool to aggregate measured nonoverlapping outlet-section air delivery and normalize actual grain mass against caller criterion; no fan curve, uniform speed assumption or grain-storage condition guarantee.
Prepare the field, crop, soil or material measurements for the intended period. Confirm units, dry/wet bases and supplied parameters; keep paired observations aligned.
How to use Agriculture Aeration Airflow Rate and understand its results
- Prepare the field, crop, soil or material measurements for the intended period. Confirm units, dry/wet bases and supplied parameters; keep paired observations aligned.
- Enter measuredOutletAirSpeedsMPerSecond, outletSegmentAreasM2, grainInventoryTonnes, callerMinimumAirflowM3PerMinutePerTonne using the field table and calculation rules, then run the tool.
- Read measuredTotalAirflowM3PerMinute, specificMeasuredAirflowM3PerMinutePerTonne, aboveCallerAirflowCriterion. The explanation below defines the units, signs, ordering and any flags or placeholder values.
- If the tool reports an input issue, correct the values and run it again. Apply the stated assumptions when interpreting a successfully returned result.
| Input field | Meaning | Value type; see rules below | Requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| measuredOutletAirSpeedsMPerSecond | Measured outlet air speeds m per second | list of number | Required |
| outletSegmentAreasM2 | Outlet segment areas m2 | list of number | Required |
| grainInventoryTonnes | Grain inventory tonnes | number | Required |
| callerMinimumAirflowM3PerMinutePerTonne | Caller minimum airflow m3 per minute per tonne | number | Required |
Pair nonnegative outlet speeds in m/s with positive nonoverlapping section areas in m². Supply positive grain tonnes and nonnegative caller minimum m³/min/tonne. Return total and specific flow, and an inclusive at-least-criterion boolean despite above in the output name.
Paired lists must be nonempty and have equal lengths.
m³/min = 60Σ(speed_i area_i); specificAirflow = total/tonnes Units, indexing, boundary conditions and exceptional cases are defined in the calculation rules above.
| Output field | Meaning | Value type |
|---|---|---|
| measuredTotalAirflowM3PerMinute | Measured total airflow m3 per minute | number |
| specificMeasuredAirflowM3PerMinutePerTonne | Specific measured airflow m3 per minute per tonne | number |
| aboveCallerAirflowCriterion | Above caller airflow criterion | boolean |

} Limitations and assumptions
Measured areas and speeds must represent the same outlet conditions. Fan curves, airflow through individual grain regions and storage quality are not inferred; the threshold is supplied policy.
Numeric inputs must be finite. Follow the calculation-specific rules for overflow, underflow and exceptional cases. Numeric lists are limited to 100,000 entries; the rules above may require smaller limits. Missing required fields, extra fields, wrong value types and violations of the calculation rules are input errors. A successfully returned false flag is an evaluated outcome; its meaning is explained above.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use Agriculture Storage Loss Percentage: Infer storage dry-matter retention from an explicitly assumed conserved ash tracer, separating moisture-driven wet-mass ratio; ash loss/addition violates the model and apparent negative loss is retained as diagnostic. For a complementary task, use Agriculture Sprinkler Precipitation Rate: Convert measured catch-can volumes/openings to local sprinkler precipitation rates and weight by represented ground area; no ideal spacing/discharge uniformity assumption.
