Farm Support Rate Cap Applier

Apply an explicit upper cap to a supplied support rate without looking up policy amounts.

Description

Apply a supplied cap to a nonnegative support-rate scenario.

Policy arithmetic depends on supplied rule editions, eligibility assertions, rate bases and accounting boundaries. A simple interest term does not select a legal rate, and passing recorded check flags does not establish program eligibility. Overspend and over-redemption can remain visible as signed discrepancies.

Apply a supplied cap to a nonnegative support-rate scenario.

When to use this tool

Use Farm Support Rate Cap Applier when you already have suppliedRate, suppliedCap and need to apply a supplied cap to a nonnegative support-rate scenario.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter suppliedRate, suppliedCap. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read cappedRate, reduction. Use the output convention below.

Require rate/cap>=0; capped=min(rate,cap), reduction=max(0,rate-cap).1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Rate units and legal applicability are supplied. This does not determine an actual support rate, policy entitlement, payment or eligible area.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Consult authoritative program rules and original budget, evidence and payment records. Apply the complete eligibility and legal process when local caps, date gaps or labels cannot determine an actual obligation or entitlement.
