Description
Compute rateAmount=distance*rate; payable=min(rateAmount,actualCost,remainingCap), unreimbursed=actualCost-payable.
Extension-training comparisons depend on score ranges, credit weights, unit factors, plot support and cost bases. A normalized difference or area-scaled harvest describes supplied records rather than proving learning, causal adoption or an agronomic effect. Caller-chosen factors need separate justification.
Compute rateAmount=distance*rate; payable=min(rateAmount,actualCost,remainingCap), unreimbursed=actualCost-payable.
When to use this tool
Use Extension Grant Travel Reimbursement Cap when checking the stated training, credit, demonstration-plot, unit or cost convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter distance, suppliedRate, actualCost, remainingCap. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read rateAmount, payable, unreimbursed. Use the output convention below.
Require nonnegative distance, rate, actual cost and cap remainder. Compute rateAmount=distance*rate; payable=min(rateAmount, actualCost, remainingCap), unreimbursed=actualCost-payable.1

| suppliedRate | Supplied Rate | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| actualCost | Actual Cost | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| remainingCap | Remaining Cap | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| rateAmount | Rate Amount | Required. Finite number. |
| payable | Minimum of rate-derived amount, actual cost and remaining cap; not an entitlement decision. | Required. Finite number. |
| unreimbursed | Unreimbursed | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- The formula follows caller-supplied constraints; it does not determine actual reimbursement rights or a current grant policy.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
