Crop Contract Moisture Price Basis

Convert delivered crop mass to a supplied contract moisture basis by dry-matter conservation; drying charges and grade adjustments are separate.

Description

Normalize supplied delivered mass to a contract moisture basis.

Agribusiness accounts distinguish packages, deposits, commissions, fixed fees, moisture-normalized mass and signed credits. Minimum charges can apply at zero use, while a return-credit fee can exceed gross credit. Supplied contract terms and unit definitions do not verify transactions or legal entitlement.

Normalize supplied delivered mass to a contract moisture basis.

When to use this tool

Use Crop Contract Moisture Price Basis when you already have deliveredMass, actualMoistureFraction, contractMoistureFraction, pricePerContractMass and need to normalize supplied delivered mass to a contract moisture basis.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter deliveredMass, actualMoistureFraction, contractMoistureFraction, pricePerContractMass. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read equivalentContractMass, value. Use the output convention below.

Require mass/price>=0, actual wet-basis moisture in [0,1] and contract wet-basis moisture in [0,1); equivalent=mass*(1-actual)/(1-contract), value=equivalent*price.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • The relation conserves nominal dry matter and is not a physical drying prediction. No grade, losses, actual moisture, price entitlement or applicable contract is verified.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Check original orders, invoices, weighing records and agreements. Use complete contractual, accounting and appropriate financial assessment when local package counts, settlement balances or price adjustments cannot establish an actual obligation.
