Soil Amendment Mass Moisture Basis

Partition explicit amendment wet mass into water and dry mass using supplied wet-basis moisture.

Description

Split supplied wet amendment mass into dry and water masses.

Agricultural chemical records distinguish wet-basis moisture, dilution direction, charge equivalents and supplied reporting bases. A fertilizer-grade token preserves reported percentages without converting elemental and oxide conventions or validating composition. Retest-date gaps and lot labels do not establish product safety or authorized use.

Split supplied wet amendment mass into dry and water masses.

When to use this tool

Use Soil Amendment Mass Moisture Basis when you already have wetMass, wetBasisMoistureFraction and need to split supplied wet amendment mass into dry and water masses.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter wetMass, wetBasisMoistureFraction. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read dryMass, waterMass. Use the output convention below.

Require wetMass>=0 and wetBasisMoistureFraction in [0,1]; dry=wet*(1-fraction), water=wet*fraction.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Moisture is water mass/wet total mass, not a dry-basis ratio. No composition, actual moisture, application amount or safe/legal use is assessed.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Review original laboratory, product, sample and controlled-label records with the complete appropriate assessment. Verify units and reporting bases before applying local factors; these tools do not select chemicals, preparation procedures or application amounts.
