Description
Allocate surplus by memberTrade/total; split allocated amount into retained and cash shares.
Agribusiness records use explicit price bases, commissions, returns, minimum charges, credits and tax assumptions. A supplied arithmetic rule can reconcile a scenario while actual acceptance, contractual rights and legal liability require the governing agreement. Signed residual balances can be useful evidence of overpayment or inconsistent inputs.
Allocate surplus by memberTrade/total; split allocated amount into retained and cash shares.
When to use this tool
Use Cooperative Member Patronage Share Term when checking the stated caller-defined price, fee, return or settlement convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter memberEligibleTrade, totalEligibleTrade, distributableSurplus, retainedFraction. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read share, allocated, cashPaid, retained. Use the output convention below.
Require positive total eligible trade, member trade within total, nonnegative surplus and retained fraction in [0,1]. Allocate surplus by memberTrade/total; split allocated amount into retained and cash shares.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| memberEligibleTrade | Member Eligible Trade | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| totalEligibleTrade | Total Eligible Trade | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| distributableSurplus | Distributable Surplus | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| retainedFraction | Share withheld from the allocated member surplus; cash uses its complement. | Required. Finite number; minimum 0; maximum 1. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| share | Dimensionless share using the operation-specific denominator stated above; not a percentage number. | Required. Finite number. |
| allocated | Allocated | Required. Finite number. |
| cashPaid | Cash Paid | Required. Finite number. |
| retained | Retained | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Eligibility and distributable surplus are supplied; no cooperative rules, authorization or actual distribution rights are determined.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
