Description
Compute usable quantity, price per usable unit, ceil(required/usablePerPack) whole packs and their purchase cost.
Agribusiness budgets distinguish capacity, elapsed time, person-nights, physical losses, usable pack contents and moisture-normalized mass. A nominal unit cost differs from total profitability, and a cold-storage fee says nothing about actual preservation conditions. The reporting basis must match the supplied quantities.
Compute usable quantity, price per usable unit, ceil(required/usablePerPack) whole packs and their purchase cost.
When to use this tool
Use Agricultural Input Pack Size Unit Cost when checking the stated business quantity, resource, unit-cost or material-basis convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter packPrice, packQuantity, usableFraction, requiredQuantity. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read usablePerPack, unitCost, packs, purchaseCost. Use the output convention below.
Require nonnegative pack price/required quantity, packQuantity>0 and usableFraction in (0,1]. Compute usable quantity, price per usable unit, ceil(required/usablePerPack) whole packs and their purchase cost.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| packPrice | Pack Price | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| packQuantity | Pack Quantity | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| usableFraction | Usable Fraction | Required. Finite number; maximum 1; strictly above 0. |
| requiredQuantity | Required usable quantity; whole-pack purchase count divides by usablePerPack. | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| usablePerPack | Usable Per Pack | Required. Finite number. |
| unitCost | Unit Cost | Required. Finite number. |
| packs | Packs | Required. Safe integer. |
| purchaseCost | Purchase Cost | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Required quantity is on the usable basis; no recommended dose, material suitability or actual availability is determined.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use verified operating and contract records and a complete suitable budget or material assessment for actual financial, logistical or quality decisions.
