Description
Count evidence+narrative-excluded appendix; return limit-counted as signed remainder.
Adult-learning budgets allocate supplied time, observations, support hours and optional participation. Elapsed session time differs from assessor person-time or serial per-learner time. A completeness count or feasible time balance does not itself assess competence, accessibility or learning quality.
Count evidence+narrative-excluded appendix; return limit-counted as signed remainder.
When to use this tool
Use Recognition Portfolio Page Budget when checking the stated adult-learning time, participation, resource or support-allocation convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter pageLimit, evidencePages, narrativePages, excludedAppendixPages. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read countedPages, remainingPages. Use the output convention below.
Require nonnegative whole page counts/limit and excludedAppendixPages<=evidencePages. Count evidence+narrative-excluded appendix; return limit-counted as signed remainder.1

} Limitations and assumptions
- Appendix pages are assumed included within evidencePages; no portfolio content, evidence validity or recognition policy is assessed.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
