Description
Calculate supplied nominal class-contact minutes and hours.
Adult-learning records distinguish self ratings, comparison criteria, acknowledgments, feedback states and recognized credits. Closing a feedback item can mean completion or decline, while a reported rating gap does not establish competence. Supplied priorities and evidence references need the broader learning context.
Calculate supplied nominal class-contact minutes and hours.
When to use this tool
Use Adult Class Contact Hour Duration when you already have sessionCount, minutesPerSession and need to calculate supplied nominal class-contact minutes and hours.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter sessionCount, minutesPerSession. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read contactMinutes, contactHours. Use the output convention below.
Require sessionCount a nonnegative safe whole count and minutesPerSession>=0; multiply for minutes and divide by 60 for clock hours.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| sessionCount | Session Count | Required. Safe integer; minimum 0. |
| minutesPerSession | Minutes Per Session | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| contactMinutes | Contact Minutes | Required. Finite number. |
| contactHours | Clock minutes/60; no institutional credit/contact-hour convention is selected. | Required. Finite number. |
{
"input": {
"sessionCount": 12,
"minutesPerSession": 90
},
"output": {
"contactMinutes": 1080,
"contactHours": 18
}
} Limitations and assumptions
- Clock hours do not automatically equal institutional credit/contact-hour definitions. No attendance, teaching quality, recognized credit or learning is established.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Review the complete goals, criteria, learner preferences, evidence and recognition policy. Use an appropriate educational assessment for learning decisions; local labels, time gaps and supplied credit balances do not establish outcomes or informed agreement.
