Eye Strain Index Calculator

Actual qualified caller-instrument aggregation for Eye Strain Index Calculator. actual named eye-strain survey/edition/exposure, not clinical diagnosis. Actual edition, bounds, reverse keys, weights and missing-item policy independently verified; unknown scores retain total bounds. Example keys not published instrument. Not a universal index, population stereotype, normed diagnosis or licensed questionnaire reproduction.

Description

Eye-strain questionnaires summarize reported symptoms under particular exposure conditions.

Eye-strain questionnaires summarize reported symptoms under particular exposure conditions.1

Their scores require the instrument's item rules and do not independently explain the cause of symptoms. This tool aggregates a caller-specified scoring key and preserves unknown-item bounds.

When to use Eye Strain Index Calculator

Aggregate independently established item evidence using an applicable scoring key, while retaining the range allowed by missing evidence.

How to use Eye Strain Index Calculator and how it works

  1. Establish the instrument edition, administration context, bounds, reverse keys, weights and missing-item policy.
  2. Enter source metadata and aligned item arrays; mark unknown evidence with 0 and provide valid bounded placeholders, then run the tool.
  3. Read the known weighted sum, possible-total bounds and unknown item IDs.
  4. Resolve missing evidence or correct rejected codes before applying the instrument interpretation; a partial sum alone is not a complete score.
Input fieldMeaningValue typeRequirement

actualInstrumentItemIdsDistinct nonblank IDs for items in the independently verified scoring key.array of stringRequired; other constraints below
actualIndependentlyEstablishedItemScoresObserved item codes or valid bounded placeholders for unknown items, in item order.array of numberRequired; other constraints below
callerVerifiedItemMinimaFinite lower score endpoint for every item; strictly below its maximum.array of numberRequired; other constraints below
callerVerifiedItemMaximaFinite upper score endpoint for every item, inclusive for codes.array of numberRequired; other constraints below
callerVerifiedReverseKeyFlagsBinary flags: 1 reflects a known score around minimum+maximum; 0 leaves it unchanged.array of numberRequired; other constraints below
callerVerifiedItemWeightsNonnegative finite item weights with at least one positive weight.array of numberRequired; other constraints below
itemEvidenceKnownFlagsBinary flags: 1 is known evidence, 0 preserves the possible score range instead of using the placeholder.array of numberRequired; other constraints below

Supply verified source, context and real Gregorian as-of date (YYYY-MM-DD, years 0001–9999), then aligned nonempty unique item IDs, scores, minima, maxima, reverse-key flags, weights and evidence-known flags. Reverse and known flags must be binary; weights nonnegative with at least one positive. Each minimum must be strictly below its maximum, and every score, including unknown placeholders, must lie within its item bounds. Reverse known scores as minimum+maximum-score, multiply by weights, and sum known contributions. Add unknown-item weighted minima or maxima for the possible-total bounds; unknown placeholders never contribute as observed evidence. Return known weighted sum, minimum and maximum possible totals, and unknown IDs in input order. The tool does not supply item wording, a scoring key, norms, questionnaire administration or a missing-item policy.

knownSum=sum(weight*known*(reverse?min+max-score:score)); lower=knownSum+sum(weight*(1-known)*min); upper=knownSum+sum(weight*(1-known)*max)

Apply the input ordering, units and branch conditions stated above.

Limitations and assumptions

The item key and edition come from the caller. The tool neither reproduces a questionnaire nor establishes norms, a clinical diagnosis or a universally meaningful score. Possible-total bounds are arithmetic ranges, not confidence intervals.

All fields require explicit values. Unexpected fields, wrong types, nonfinite numbers and sparse arrays are rejected. Alignment, bounds and supported-token rules are explained above; extremely large inputs or nonfinite results can also fail. Input errors differ from successful false comparisons, unavailable-domain flags and empty match lists.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use Simulator Sickness Score Calculator for a complementary operation: Simulator-sickness scores depend on a named survey edition and its scoring rules.

Use Presence Score Calculator for a complementary operation: Presence describes a user's reported sense of being in a virtual environment.
