Winter Pruning Hours Per Hectare Calculator

Winter-pruning crew elapsed hours per hectare under caller measured productivity; not a agronomic pruning schedule.

Description

Estimate elapsed pruning crew-hours per hectare from measured per-vine time.

A pruning workload combines vine count with observed time per vine. Dividing total labor by workers estimates elapsed crew time under an equal-productivity assumption.

When to use this tool

Estimate elapsed pruning crew-hours per hectare from measured per-vine time. Use it when the input measurements and conventions below match the operation you need.

  • Prepare vinesPerHectare, minutesPerVine, workers, respecting the measurement basis and boundaries below.
  • Compare the worked example with your intended operation before reusing its result.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter every field in the input table using the stated units and exact supported selector spelling where applicable.
  2. Run the tool. Correct input errors before interpreting an output.
  3. Read the result fields below; use accompanying flags and the stated sign, boundary or model convention when interpreting a number.

Vines per hectare and minutes per vine must be nonnegative, and workers an integer from one to one million. crewHoursPerHectare equals vines per hectare times minutes per vine divided by (60 times workers).1

Input fieldMeaning and unitsAccepted input
vinesPerHectareVines per hectare.Finite number; zero or greater
minutesPerVineMinutes per vine.Finite number; zero or greater
workersWorkers.Integer; from 1 to 1000000 inclusive
Output fieldInterpretation
resultObject containing the following named result fields.
result.crewHoursPerHectareElapsed crew hours per hectare after dividing total worker-hours by workers.

Limitations and assumptions

  • The returned crew time is not total worker-hours. Travel, setup, unequal productivity, downtime and simultaneous-access limits are omitted.
  • Every declared field is required and unexpected fields are rejected. Numeric inputs must be finite; input errors are distinct from a valid false result or an explicitly qualified output.
  • Extremely large inputs and nonfinite or excessively large outputs are rejected. List positions reported by the tool use zero-based indices unless stated otherwise.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Compare the result with actual block measurements, soil or crop observations and the declared management basis. Use a site-specific model when effects omitted here materially affect the decision. Compare the scope of the nearby tools below before substituting one.
