Pigment Test Chip Mixture Label Tool

Label a recorded pigment test mixture using explicit parts; no optical color prediction or pigment compatibility is inferred.

Description

Join name=amount parts entries using semicolon-space separators.

Pigment and material labels organize supplied identifiers and names. A correctly formatted label does not identify a physical sample or establish the safety, permanence, or provenance of its materials.

Join name=amount parts entries using semicolon-space separators.

When to use this tool

Use Pigment Test Chip Mixture Label when you need to join or recognize supplied material-label components without performing a physical identification.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter pigmentNames, parts. Keep parallel arrays aligned. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read label. Use the output convention below.

Require aligned nonempty pigmentNames and nonnegative parts with at least one positive amount. Join name=amount parts entries using semicolon-space separators.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Parts are relative supplied quantities rather than normalized percentages; names, chemical compatibility, toxicity, and reproducibility are not verified.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Consult the relevant materials catalog or a qualified conservator for material identification and treatment decisions.
