Endotoxin Lot Limit Audit
Screen measured endotoxin concentrations for multiple lots against an explicitly supplied lot criterion.
Description
List lots whose measured endotoxin concentration exceeds a supplied maximum and report the highest value and combined comparison flag.
Endotoxin testing is one element of quality assessment for biological products and other regulated materials. Acceptance criteria depend on the product and its intended use. A measured concentration must be compared on the same unit basis as the selected specification.1
This tool works with endotoxin units per milliliter, written EU/mL. A concentration limit is distinct from a mass or dose-based limit; the calculator does not convert between them or select a product-specific maximum.
Endotoxin Lot Limit Audit compares one supplied measurement per distinct lot with one supplied maximum. It returns the exceeding lot IDs, highest measurement, and a flag stating whether all comparisons pass.
When to audit concentration limits across lots
Use the tool after obtaining final-basis EU/mL measurements and selecting a compatible specification. All listed lots use the same maximum in one calculation.
- Identify lots strictly above a supplied concentration limit.
- Retain an exact-boundary result as within that limit.
- Report the largest submitted measurement for review.
How to enter lot measurements and apply the maximum
- Enter nonempty distinct Lot ids and an aligned Measured eu per ml list of nonnegative concentrations.
- Enter nonnegative Maximum eu per ml in the same measurement basis.
- Run the audit and inspect Exceeding lots and Maximum measured eu per ml.
- Read All within limit as the outcome of these numerical comparisons alongside the assay records.
exceedingLots = IDs with measuredEuPerMl > maximumEuPerMl; allWithinLimit = exceedingLots.length === 0 The comparison is strict for exceedance: equality passes. The implementation preserves lot order in the exceeding list and scans all measurements for the maximum.

Limitations and interpretation
- The tool does not determine an applicable limit, validate the analytical method, or authorize batch release.
- Sampling, interference, dilution recovery, assay uncertainty, and other pyrogens are not evaluated.
- A numerical zero is used directly and is not interpreted as a below-detection or below-quantification statement.
- One value per lot and one shared EU/mL maximum are used; dose-volume or body-mass adjustments require separate analysis.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Keep the measurement method and selected specification with the audit. Residual host-DNA and replication-competence records address other quality attributes and should retain their distinct units and criteria.
