Historical Adoption Year Sorter

Stable chronological order of independently verified positive-CE adoption years, retaining caller order for equal-year ties; no live national adoption catalogue.

Description

A chronological flag-design list needs verified adoption years and stable treatment of ties.

A chronological flag-design list needs verified adoption years and stable treatment of ties.1

This sorter keeps the original order when multiple designs share a year.

When to use Historical Adoption Year Sorter

Use this tool when you need to reproduce the stated calculation from measured records or independently selected model inputs. Establish the flag dimensions, orientation, specification, palette, or visual annotations needed for this particular calculation.

How to use Historical Adoption Year Sorter and understand its results

  1. Establish the flag dimensions, orientation, specification, palette, or visual annotations needed for this particular calculation.
  2. Enter flagDesignIds, callerVerifiedAdoptionYears, following the field table and rules below, then run the tool.
  3. Read result. Use the output meanings below to interpret units, signs, flags, and any nested result fields.
  4. Correct reported input issues and run again. For a successful result, check the stated evidence coverage and assumptions before using it in your review.
Input fieldMeaningValue typeRequirement
flagDesignIdsFlag design idslist of stringRequired
callerVerifiedAdoptionYearsCaller verified adoption yearslist of numberRequired

Enter unique nonblank design IDs and aligned integer CE years from one to 9999. Sort indices by year ascending and original index for ties; return aligned sorted IDs and years.

sortKey_i=(year_i,originalIndex_i)

Symbols follow the input and output meanings and the calculation rules above.

Limitations and assumptions

The calculation uses supplied geometry, observations, or annotations. It does not establish an official construction specification, national identity, or universal design quality.

Missing required fields, unknown fields, wrong types, and violated calculation rules are input issues. Numeric values must be finite; nonfinite results are rejected. Evidence arrays must be dense, with no missing cells. Numeric observation lists allow at most 10,000 entries, subject to any smaller bounds stated above. String lists allow at most 128 strings of at most 128 characters. Extremely large composite outputs are rejected.

Alternative or Complementary methods

For a related review, use Flag Change Frequency per Century Estimator: Flag-change frequency requires a counted event total and a fully observed interval. Scaling the count to a century summarizes that interval without forecasting the next change. For a complementary step, use Two-Sided Design Difference Recorder: Two flag faces can be compared only after their attributes have been aligned under the same registration convention. Exact attribute differences then provide a reproducible record of which positions changed.
