Urology Image Volume Unit

Convert an explicit image-derived volume between cubic millimeters and milliliters without estimating an organ volume.

Description

Convert an image-derived volume between cubic millimetres and millilitres.

Urinary records distinguish collected volume, collection duration, mean flow, anatomical side and the source of symptom codes. Millilitres, litres and cubic millimetres are volume units; dividing volume by a specified interval gives a mean rate. A diary transcription or volume balance needs verified collection and clinical context before it can inform care.

Convert an image-derived volume between cubic millimetres and millilitres.

When to use this tool

Use Urology Image Volume Unit when you already have volume, inputIsCubicMillimeters and need to convert an image-derived volume between cubic millimetres and millilitres.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter volume, inputIsCubicMillimeters. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read cubicMillimeters, milliliters. Use the output convention below.

Require volume>=0; use 1000 mm³=1 mL, selecting the input basis with inputIsCubicMillimeters.1

A millilitre equals a cubic centimetre, or 1000 cubic millimetres. The conversion is dimensional, not an image-derived measurement.2

Limitations and assumptions

  • No image is read, segmented or calibrated; a converted volume does not establish anatomy or diagnosis.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Review the original collection log, measurement units and instrument protocol before interpreting a volume or flow. Use the full recorded trace for peak or time-varying flow; a mean or transcription is only one component of that record.
