Description

Use an explicit signed bench height convention and supplied pressure-per-height factor.

A research diary or bench measurement uses a defined observation window, clock, unit, and reference level. Missing timing, incomplete collection, and unverified measurements affect how a result can be interpreted. Record arithmetic and signal terms describe supplied data without establishing clinical status.

Use an explicit signed bench height convention and supplied pressure-per-height factor.

When to use this tool

Use Pressure Channel Reference Height Gap when you need a research-record or bench calculation with already supplied measurements, units, and observation boundaries.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter measuredPressure, referenceHeight, channelHeight, pressurePerHeight. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read correction, correctedPressure. Use the output convention below.

Return correction=(referenceHeight-channelHeight)*pressurePerHeight and correctedPressure=measuredPressure+correction, requiring nonnegative pressurePerHeight.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Height units and pressure-per-height units must match, including the caller's height sign convention. This does not choose a clinical reference level, verify sensor placement, or determine patient status.
  • The field tables state structural bounds; the mechanics also specify cross-field constraints. Malformed inputs and unsupported domains cause errors. A successful false flag, empty branch value, or zero placeholder has the meaning stated above and is distinct from an input error.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Signed zero is exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use an appropriately validated measurement and analysis method for clinical interpretation. Verify diary completeness, clock conventions, and measurement units before combining these terms into a research summary.
