Tour Group Child Adult Count

Reconcile explicit child and adult group counts, using a flagged zero share for an empty group without defining age categories.

Description

Calculate recorded tour-group size and the child share.

Travel records distinguish a booking transcription, recorded party count and a caller-supplied time or cost allowance. Calendar-day validity can expire at a day boundary, whereas rolling validity preserves purchase time. Venue timezones, ticket terms, actual access and statutory taxes must be checked separately from a supplied arithmetic scenario.

Calculate recorded tour-group size and the child share.

When to use this tool

Use Tour Group Child Adult Count when you already have recordedChildren, recordedAdults and need to calculate recorded tour-group size and the child share.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter recordedChildren, recordedAdults. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read groupCount, childShare, defined. Inspect defined before interpreting the associated values.

Require nonnegative safe whole child/adult counts; sum using BigInt then export a number. Return children/total, or zero with defined=false for an empty group.1

Input fieldMeaning and unitsAccepted input
recordedChildrenRecorded ChildrenRequired. Safe integer; minimum 0.
recordedAdultsRecorded AdultsRequired. Safe integer; minimum 0.
Output fieldInterpretationReturned shape
groupCountSafe integer total; an unsafe sum is rejected by output validation.Required. Safe integer.
childShareChild ShareRequired. Finite number.
definedFalse for a zero total; childShare=0 is then a placeholder.Required. Boolean.

Limitations and assumptions

  • Counts are supplied; an unsafe numeric total is rejected by the output contract. Ages, supervision and legal child definitions are not checked.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Check venue-local ticket terms and verified booking dates for actual admission. Build a complete itinerary with travel and opening-hour constraints when planning a visit; use supplied count, tax and time terms as individual budget components.
