Understudy Role Coverage Matrix Checker
Maximum one-performer-per-role simultaneous matching from actual independently verified coverage matrix, deterministic traversal and−1unmatched. Not vocal/physical readiness, contract availability or permission to cast/rehearse.
Description
Understudy coverage can be modeled as a bipartite relationship between roles and eligible performers.
Understudy coverage can be modeled as a bipartite relationship between roles and eligible performers.1
Simultaneous assignment differs from separately finding someone for every role because one performer can fill only one role at a time in this model.
When to use Understudy Role Coverage Matrix Checker
Use this tool to calculate or review the supplied observations under the stated rules. Establish the production, adopted practice, equipment configuration and applicable source or policy edition.
How to use Understudy Role Coverage Matrix Checker and understand its results
- Establish the production, adopted practice, equipment configuration and applicable source or policy edition.
- Enter callerRoleIds, callerPerformerIds, independentlyVerifiedCoverageMatrix, using the field meanings and rules below, then run the tool.
- Read simultaneousCoverPerformerIndicesByRole; −1 means unmatched. Review unmatchedRoleIds and the supplied eligibility evidence before adopting an assignment.
- Correct any reported input issue and run again. Before using a successful result, check the stated units, signs, reference scope and observation coverage.
| Input field | Meaning | Value type | Requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| callerRoleIds | Caller role ids | list of string | Required |
| callerPerformerIds | Caller performer ids | list of string | Required |
| independentlyVerifiedCoverageMatrix | Independently verified coverage matrix | numeric matrix | Required |
Supply nonempty unique nonblank role IDs and performer IDs, each with at most 32 entries, and a binary eligibility matrix with one row per role and one column per performer. Search roles and performers in input order using recursive augmenting paths, reassigning an earlier role when this allows another match. Return a maximum-cardinality one-to-one assignment, with zero-based performer indices per role and −1 for an unmatched role, plus unmatched role IDs. Equivalent maximum assignments can differ; this does not verify eligibility or rank preferences.
maximize ΣmatchedRoles subject to at most one role per performer and eligibility(role,performer)=1 Use the matching field units and the exact boundary, ordering and reference rules above.
| Output field | Meaning | Value type |
|---|---|---|
| result | Calculated observation or qualified reference | object |
| result.simultaneousCoverPerformerIndicesByRole | Zero-based performer index per role; −1 marks an unmatched role. | list |
| result.unmatchedRoleIds | Role identifiers for which the maximum-cardinality matching found no simultaneous cover. | list |

} Limitations and assumptions
The actual production context, equipment configuration and applicable reference must be independently established. A recorded reference or calculation does not authorize a procedure or demonstrate compliance.
Missing required fields, unknown fields, wrong types and violated rules return input issues. Numeric values and outputs must be finite. Lists and matrices must be dense, without missing cells. String lists allow at most 128 entries, with each string at most 128 UTF-16 units; blank and duplicate rules are stated above. Numeric matrices allow at most 128 rows and 128 columns, subject to the narrower matrix requirements above. Extremely large composite outputs are rejected.
