Description
Apply a marginal rebate to the supplied purchase band only, without a retroactive all-purchase rebate.
A logistics record separates ordered, reserved, dispatched, received, lost, and available quantities. It can also distinguish volume, mass, packaging, and cost bases. A balance or ratio checks supplied records and assumptions without verifying physical inventory, a contract, or safe loading.
Apply a marginal rebate to the supplied purchase band only, without a retroactive all-purchase rebate.
When to use this tool
Use Vendor Rebate Purchase Tier Slice when you need the particular supplied count, loading-budget, timing, or cost term in a logistics record.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter purchases, lowerBound, upperBound, rebateRate. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read eligibleSlice, rebate. Use the output convention below.
Calculate eligibleSlice=max(0,min(purchases,upperBound)-lowerBound) and rebate=eligibleSlice*rebateRate. Require nonnegative purchases and ordered nonnegative bounds with rate within zero through one.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| purchases | Purchases | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| lowerBound | Lower Bound | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| upperBound | Upper Bound | Required. Finite number. |
| rebateRate | Rebate Rate | Required. Finite number; minimum 0; maximum 1. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| eligibleSlice | Eligible Slice | Required. Finite number. |
| rebate | Rebate | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- The rebate applies only to the slice in this band, not all purchases. Contract rules, other tiers, currency rounding, and rebate eligibility are not inferred.
- The field tables state structural bounds; the mechanics also specify cross-field constraints. Malformed inputs and unsupported domains cause errors. A successful false flag, empty branch value, or zero placeholder has the meaning stated above and is distinct from an input error.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Signed zero is exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Check the original stock, shipment, measurement, and contract records before acting on a balance. A full packing, routing, procurement, or load assessment may require more than the returned term.
