Shot Data Unit Consistency Checker
Exact actual shot declared-unit tags versus explicit callerrequired units, not conversion or inference from bare numbers.
Description
A survey record's distance and angle tags declare how its numbers are interpreted.
A survey record's distance and angle tags declare how its numbers are interpreted.1
Exact tag matching can identify inconsistent labels without converting values or inferring their true units.
When to use Shot Data Unit Consistency Checker
Use this tool to obtain distanceMismatchIndices, angleMismatchIndices from the supplied records using the stated calculation. Establish the survey or observation scope, reference frame, units and independently applicable calibration or qualified plan.
How to use Shot Data Unit Consistency Checker and understand its results
- Establish the survey or observation scope, reference frame, units and independently applicable calibration or qualified plan.
- Enter actualDistanceUnitTags, actualAngleUnitTags, callerRequiredDistanceUnit, callerRequiredAngleUnit, using the field meanings and rules below, then run the tool.
- Read result.distanceMismatchIndices, result.angleMismatchIndices. Use the units and sign conventions below, and review any unknown records separately.
- Correct any reported input issue and run again. Before using a successful result, check the stated units, signs, reference scope and observation coverage.
| Input field | Meaning | Value type | Requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| actualDistanceUnitTags | Actual distance unit tags | list of string | Required |
| actualAngleUnitTags | Actual angle unit tags | list of string | Required |
| callerRequiredDistanceUnit | Caller required distance unit | string | Required |
| callerRequiredAngleUnit | Caller required angle unit | string | Required |
Supply nonempty aligned distance-tag and angle-tag lists, and nonblank required tags. Every recorded tag must be nonblank. Compare each string exactly without trimming or normalizing the comparisons, and return zero-based mismatch positions separately for distance and angle. Labels such as m and metres remain distinct.
distanceMismatch={i:distanceTag_i≠requiredDistanceTag}; angleMismatch={i:angleTag_i≠requiredAngleTag} Use the matching field units and the exact boundary, ordering and reference rules above.
| Output field | Meaning | Value type |
|---|---|---|
| result | Qualified observed calculation or explicit reference | object |
| result.distanceMismatchIndices | Zero-based shot positions whose distance tags do not exactly match the required tag. | list |
| result.angleMismatchIndices | Zero-based shot positions whose angle tags do not exactly match the required tag. | list |

The actual observation coverage, calibration and qualified plan determine applicability. A numerical result does not establish survey accuracy, route suitability, atmosphere conditions or equipment adequacy beyond the declared comparison.
Missing required fields, unknown fields, wrong types and violated rules return input issues. Numeric values and outputs must be finite. Lists and matrices must be dense, without missing cells. String lists allow at most 128 entries of at most 128 UTF-16 units each; blank and duplicate rules are stated above. Extremely large composite outputs are rejected.
Alternative or Complementary methods
For a related step, use Survey Data CSV Row Completeness Checker: Survey CSV completeness concerns whether the required fields have documented evidence. For a complementary comparison, use LRUD Passage Sketch Dimension Completeness Checker: LRUD means left, right, up and down passage dimensions under the adopted survey frame.
