Atom Membership Bit Signature Tool

Encode ordered set-membership flags as a left-to-right signature and an exact atom index, with the first set occupying the least significant bit.

Description

Read memberships in array order, write true as 1 and false as 0 for signature, and set integer bit i for every true entry.

A set contains distinct values, so duplicate input items do not contribute additional members. Ordered output is a serialization convention; membership, equality, and the chosen universe determine the underlying set result.

Read memberships in array order, write true as 1 and false as 0 for signature, and set integer bit i for every true entry.

When to use this tool

Use Atom Membership Bit Signature when you need a deterministic operation on explicitly supplied sets or a finite membership representation.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter memberships. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read signature, indexDecimal. Use the output convention below.

Read memberships in array order, write true as 1 and false as 0 for signature, and set integer bit i for every true entry. Return indexDecimal exactly.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • The leftmost printed character represents the least-significant bit, not conventional most-significant-first binary notation; the membership vocabulary is supplied.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Specify the universe and equality convention before combining this result with other set operations.
