Leaves Per KG Cocoon Ratio Calculator

Measured feed conversion ratio in kg leaves per kg cocoons; moisture basis must be matched.

Description

Calculate measured leaf-input mass per unit of cocoon-output mass.

Leaf input per unit of cocoon output is a mass-ratio measure of a declared rearing batch. It is meaningful only when input and output accounting cover the same batch.

When to use this tool

Calculate measured leaf-input mass per unit of cocoon-output mass. Use it when the input measurements and conventions below match the operation you need.

  • Prepare consumedLeafKg, cocoonKg, respecting the measurement basis and boundaries below.
  • Compare the worked example with your intended operation before reusing its result.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter every field in the input table using the stated units and exact supported selector spelling where applicable.
  2. Run the tool. Correct input errors before interpreting an output.
  3. Read the result fields below; use accompanying flags and the stated sign, boundary or model convention when interpreting a number.

Leaf mass must be nonnegative and cocoon mass positive. The tool divides leaf mass by cocoon mass in compatible units.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • The ratio does not distinguish consumed leaves from offered or wasted leaves unless the input measurement does. It is not a biological efficiency diagnosis or a feeding recommendation.
  • Every declared field is required and unexpected fields are rejected. Numeric inputs must be finite; input errors are distinct from a valid false result or an explicitly qualified output.
  • Extremely large inputs and nonfinite or excessively large outputs are rejected. List positions reported by the tool use zero-based indices unless stated otherwise.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Keep lot, sampling, processing and mass-basis records with the result. Where this page retrieves supplied guidance, consult the underlying current source rather than treating retrieval as a new measurement or process validation. Compare the scope of the nearby tools below before substituting one.
