Semiconductor Eutectic Composition Calculator
Locate actual minimum/tied liquidus composition samples on independently verified eutectic branch, no inference from an arbitrary valley or unsampled minimum.
Description
A sampled liquidus minimum can locate eutectic composition candidates on a verified eutectic branch.
A sampled liquidus minimum can locate eutectic composition candidates on a verified eutectic branch.1
A generic valley is insufficient evidence to assign that reaction type.
When to use Semiconductor Eutectic Composition Calculator
Use this tool when you need to locate a sampled minimum and all tied observed coordinates. Prepare independently matched device or specimen measurements, units, branch selection, and model or calibration conventions.
How to use Semiconductor Eutectic Composition Calculator and understand its results
- Prepare independently matched device or specimen measurements, units, branch selection, and model or calibration conventions.
- Enter observedLiquidusCompositionFractions, observedLiquidusTemperatureKelvin, callerEutecticBranchVerified, following the field table and calculation rules below, then run the tool.
- Read observedEutecticCompositionCandidates, observedMinimumLiquidusKelvin. Use the output table and calculation rules below to interpret units, signs, crossings, and flags.
- Correct any input issues and run again. Before using a successful result, review its units, signs, evidence coverage, and stated model or reference assumptions.
| Input field | Meaning | Value type | Requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| observedLiquidusCompositionFractions | Observed liquidus composition fractions | list of number | Required |
| observedLiquidusTemperatureKelvin | Observed liquidus temperature kelvin | list of number | Required |
| callerEutecticBranchVerified | Caller eutectic branch verified | boolean | Required |
Require positive Kelvin temperatures, composition fractions in [0,1], and a true eutectic-branch verification flag. Apply the sampled-minimum algorithm below, retaining all tied observed compositions. A single sample is accepted but cannot establish an unsampled minimum.
The extrema helper requires nonempty aligned response and strictly increasing coordinate lists, accepting a single sample. Find the requested sampled minimum and retain every coordinate tied by exact numeric equality. It does not fit a curve between samples or infer an unsampled global minimum.
Tmin=min(T); candidates={x_i:T_i=Tmin} Read these symbols with the field meanings and branch or reference rules above.
| Output field | Meaning | Value type |
|---|---|---|

| observedMinimumLiquidusKelvin | Observed minimum liquidus kelvin | number |

} Limitations and assumptions
Branch identity and sampling completeness must be established independently. Ties are retained; a sampled minimum does not establish the true continuous minimum.
Missing required fields, unknown fields, wrong types, and violated calculation rules return input issues. Numeric values must be finite; nonfinite numeric outputs are rejected. Arrays must be dense, with no missing cells. Numeric lists allow at most 10000 entries, subject to smaller tool-specific bounds above.
Alternative or Complementary methods
For a related task, use Semiconductor Peritectic Temperature Calculator: A peritectic equilibrium involves a particular reactant-product phase reaction. Zero crossings of its matched free-energy difference identify equilibrium candidates only after that reaction branch has been independently established. For a complementary step, use Semiconductor Phase Separation Spinodal Calculator: Local free-energy curvature describes how a sampled composition branch bends. Negative discrete curvature marks spinodal candidates under the supplied free-energy model, while phase coexistence requires a separate analysis.
