Description

Audit disjoint supplied research joint-count categories without calculating a clinical score.

Research records distinguish observed, missing, inapplicable, and unverified entries. Those categories affect which denominator or weight a summary uses. A completeness or timing calculation describes the supplied records without assigning a clinical score or interpreting a condition.

Audit disjoint supplied research joint-count categories without calculating a clinical score.

When to use this tool

Use it for research joint count coverage base when the required inputs and conventions are already available.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter observed, missing, excluded, target. Use the stated units and boundary conventions.
  2. Run the calculation. Correct any input error before interpreting a result.
  3. Read eligible, coverage, coverageDefined, unaccounted. Inspect any known, defined, inclusion, or boundary flags before interpreting numeric values.

Calculate eligible = target-excluded, coverage = observed/eligible when eligible is positive, and unaccounted = target-observed-missing-excluded. Return coverage zero with coverageDefined false for a zero eligible base.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Observed, missing, and excluded are assumed disjoint and their total cannot exceed target. Undefined coverage is not evidence of zero clinical assessment, and no disease activity score is produced.
  • The field tables describe structural bounds; the mechanics also state cross-field requirements. Malformed input shapes, disallowed keys, and invalid domains cause input errors. Results must remain finite and within the declared output contract. A successful false flag or zero placeholder is distinct from an error.
  • Numeric arithmetic uses binary floating point. Exact comparisons have no hidden tolerance or decimal rounding; negative zero is exported as zero. Decimal-text integer operations retain the exactness specifically stated above.

Alternative or Complementary methods

For research joint count coverage base, check the source records and the supplied rule before comparing the result with another method. Use an appropriately validated measurement or analysis method for clinical interpretation.
