Random Regional Indicator Pair Generator
Choose one ordered pair of Unicode regional indicator symbols using injected randomness; rendering it as a flag depends on platform support and valid region semantics.
Description
Choose one of all 676 ordered pairs of Unicode regional indicator symbols, without a valid-region filter.
Unicode regional indicator symbols encode letters A through Z, and pairs are used in flag sequences. A pair’s appearance as a flag depends on whether it represents a supported region sequence and on the platform’s rendering behavior.1
This generator samples every ordered AA-through-ZZ pair, including combinations that do not identify a recognized region. Output value is two Unicode code points and four UTF-16 code units. It may display as a flag, letter-like symbols, or an unsupported sequence.
When to use Random Regional Indicator Pair Generator
Use it for regional-indicator rendering and encoding fixtures when all two-letter combinations, including unsupported ones, are intended.
How to use Random Regional Indicator Pair Generator and understand its results
- Run without input fields, using {} programmatically.
- Read or copy value as the complete pair; inspect its two code points if rendering is ambiguous.
- Check region validity and platform support separately when the intended output must be a meaningful flag. Run again for another pair.
index = floor(randomDraw × 676); first = floor(index/26); second = index mod 26 The enumerated list orders the first letter from A to Z and then the second from A to Z; each letter offset maps from U+1F1E6.
With uniform randomness, each ordered pair has probability 1/676. The generator does not restrict the list to recommended emoji flag sequences or weigh regions by any external statistic.

} Draw zero gives AA, while a draw just below one gives ZZ. Both lie in the repertoire regardless of region semantics. Invalid random draws fail, and no surrogate code point is generated by itself.
Limitations and assumptions
The default source is Math.random; no seed input or cryptographic entropy guarantee is provided. Repeated runs may select the same result, and the distribution depends on the random source.
There is no region-name lookup, country validation, flag-image asset, or guarantee of a single displayed glyph. String code-point counts, UTF-16 lengths, and grapheme counts can differ.
Alternative or Complementary methods
A character-count tool helps inspect storage and text segmentation under its own counting convention. An emoji keycap generator provides another multi-code-point symbol fixture with different semantics.
