Random Dark Palette Generator
Generate 2 through 32 sRGB hex colors using bounded HSL style ranges and injected randomness.
Description
A dark palette here is defined by fixed HSL coordinate bounds.
A dark palette here is defined by fixed HSL coordinate bounds. HSL lightness is a color-coordinate quantity, not measured luminance or perceived brightness.
The tool returns colors (colors). These are generated fixtures or selected identifiers; the result does not replace the caller’s choice of repertoire, dataset or intended use.
When to use Random Dark Palette Generator
Use Random Dark Palette Generator when you already have count and want colors. Use the generated values as starting points for a design, then review contrast, rendering and your target color space.
How to use Random Dark Palette Generator and understand its results
- Enter count using the field table below. Match the units, ordering and data boundaries described in the calculation.
- Run the tool after checking the stated bounds and matching paired observations or categories. A malformed request gives a tool error rather than a usable measurement.
- Read colors. Use the calculation and interpretation below to distinguish amounts, ratios, signs and decision flags where applicable.
- Run again for another fixture. Preserve caller-supplied dataset metadata or separate exercise answers from prompts where present.
| Input field | Meaning | Value type and bounds | Requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| count | Color count | integer; minimum 2; maximum 32 | Required |
Generate 2–32 colors with three draws each using hue −30–330°, saturation 35–85%, lightness 12–35%; upper random bounds are excluded. Wrap hue and convert HSL to rounded uppercase six-digit sRGB hex.
coordinate = minimum+draw×(maximum−minimum) The symbols refer to the supplied quantities or generated values described above; unit conversions and comparison boundaries follow the stated implementation.

Colors may repeat after channel rounding. No contrast, unique-color, perceptual-uniformity or accessibility guarantee is supplied.
Random draws use context.random when injected and otherwise Math.random. No seed input or cryptographic randomness guarantee is provided. Consumed draws must be finite and in [0,1); repeated runs can repeat results.
