Random CSS Named Color Palette Generator
Select 2 through 32 CSS named color keywords with replacement using injected randomness.
Description
CSS named-color palettes contain keyword strings, not a unique set of visual colors.
CSS named-color palettes contain keyword strings, not a unique set of visual colors. Different keywords can encode the same color.
The tool returns colors (colors). These are generated fixtures or selected identifiers; the result does not replace the caller’s choice of repertoire, dataset or intended use.
When to use Random CSS Named Color Palette Generator
Use Random CSS Named Color Palette Generator when you already have count and want colors. Use the generated values as starting points for a design, then review contrast, rendering and your target color space.
How to use Random CSS Named Color Palette Generator and understand its results
- Enter count using the field table below. Match the units, ordering and data boundaries described in the calculation.
- Run the tool after checking the stated bounds and matching paired observations or categories. A malformed request gives a tool error rather than a usable measurement.
- Read colors. Use the calculation and interpretation below to distinguish amounts, ratios, signs and decision flags where applicable.
- Run again for another fixture. Preserve caller-supplied dataset metadata or separate exercise answers from prompts where present.
| Input field | Meaning | Value type and bounds | Requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| count | Color count | integer; minimum 2; maximum 32 | Required |
Draw independently from the stored 148 named-color keywords for each of 2–32 entries. Preserve names and draw order.
index = floor(draw×148) The symbols refer to the supplied quantities or generated values described above; unit conversions and comparison boundaries follow the stated implementation.

Keywords and visual colors can repeat, including aliases. No without-replacement or contrast criterion is applied.
Random draws use context.random when injected and otherwise Math.random. No seed input or cryptographic randomness guarantee is provided. Consumed draws must be finite and in [0,1); repeated runs can repeat results.
