Random CSS Linear Gradient Generator

Generate portable CSS for a random css linear gradient with an explicit color count and injected randomness.

Description

A CSS linear gradient is an image value that a browser can render as a background.

A CSS linear gradient is an image value that a browser can render as a background. The returned CSS combines sampled colors with a fixed stop-layout algorithm.

The tool returns colors (colors); css (css). These are generated fixtures or selected identifiers; the result does not replace the caller’s choice of repertoire, dataset or intended use.

When to use Random CSS Linear Gradient Generator

Use Random CSS Linear Gradient Generator when you already have count and want colors, css. Use the generated values as starting points for a design, then review contrast, rendering and your target color space.

How to use Random CSS Linear Gradient Generator and understand its results

  1. Enter count using the field table below. Match the units, ordering and data boundaries described in the calculation.
  2. Run the tool after checking the stated bounds and matching paired observations or categories. A malformed request gives a tool error rather than a usable measurement.
  3. Read colors, css. Use the calculation and interpretation below to distinguish amounts, ratios, signs and decision flags where applicable.
  4. Run again for another fixture. Preserve caller-supplied dataset metadata or separate exercise answers from prompts where present.

Generate a 2–32-color general HSL palette first, then consume one angle draw. Draw an integer direction from 0 through 359 degrees and use rounded percentage stops from 0% to 100%. Return both the CSS string and its color list.

percentage stop[i] = round(100×i/(count−1))

The symbols refer to the supplied quantities or generated values described above; unit conversions and comparison boundaries follow the stated implementation.

Limitations and assumptions

No browser rendering or contrast check occurs. Applying the value requires an element and CSS property; results are sRGB hex colors without alpha.

Random draws use context.random when injected and otherwise Math.random. No seed input or cryptographic randomness guarantee is provided. Consumed draws must be finite and in [0,1); repeated runs can repeat results.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Random Color Palette Generator: Generate 2 through 32 random sRGB hex colors from bounded HSL coordinates using injected randomness. Random CSS Radial Gradient Generator: Generate portable CSS for a random css radial gradient with an explicit color count and injected randomness.
