Description
Qualify an explicit out-of-specification source rule.
Quality-control results depend on measurement basis, calibration reference, rounding, limit inclusion and decision rules. A raw result can lie on a different side of a boundary from its reported value. Guard bands and relative differences must retain their exact definitions; a local comparison does not select a valid specification or establish conformance.
Qualify an explicit out-of-specification source rule.
When to use this tool
Use QC Out Of Spec Source Rule when you already have resultRecordId, ruleId, ruleVersion and need to qualify an explicit out-of-specification source rule.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter resultRecordId, ruleId, ruleVersion. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read token. Use the output convention below.
Enter resultRecordId, ruleId, ruleVersion using the field constraints below. Encode these values, in exactly that order, as a JSON array and return the serialized array as text in token. String values are preserved without trimming or external terminology lookup.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| resultRecordId | Result Record Id | Required. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| ruleId | Rule Id | Required. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| ruleVersion | Rule Version | Required. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| token | Token | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |

"ruleId": "RULE2",
"ruleVersion": "v2"
},
"output": {
"token": "[\"R17\",\"RULE2\",\"v2\"]"

} Limitations and assumptions
- The result records supplied values without applying or interpreting the rule. Sources and asserted relationships are not independently authenticated.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Apply the documented measurement method, calibration records and complete decision rule when judging a result. Keep raw values, reported values, uncertainty and endpoint inclusion visible; a supplied guard band or replicate term does not select that rule.
