Description

Compare a proposed amount with a supplied delegated-authority limit.

Administrative records connect requests, forms, permits, delegated roles, assets and payment bases. A retained amount or supplied authority limit describes one accounting convention, while matching and conflicting statuses can coexist in duplicate records. Such local checks do not establish authorization, legal validity, actual service delivery or compliance.

Compare a proposed amount with a supplied delegated-authority limit.

When to use this tool

Use Delegated Authority Currency Limit Gap when you already have proposedAmount, suppliedAuthorityLimit and need to compare a proposed amount with a supplied delegated-authority limit.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter proposedAmount, suppliedAuthorityLimit. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read remainingLimit, withinSuppliedAmountLimit. Inspect withinSuppliedAmountLimit before interpreting the associated values.

Require nonnegative proposed amount/limit; return limit-amount and amount<=limit, including equality.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • The comparison does not establish actual delegation, eligible expenditure, currency equivalence or legal authority.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Reconcile the original case, permit, asset and payment records with the applicable authority and fee rules. For duplicate statuses, inspect the full history and timestamps before choosing a current record; this helper reports matches without resolving them.
