Description

Audit exact research-option tokens without interpreting missing responses as symptom scores.

Research questionnaires and interview records distinguish answered, declined, omitted, unpresented, and inapplicable items. Timing and support annotations also affect their denominators. A completeness measure or scale transformation describes those records without establishing an instrument score or a mental-health assessment.

Audit exact research-option tokens without interpreting missing responses as symptom scores.

When to use this tool

Use Response Option Missing Code Gap when you need the particular completeness, timing, polarity, or bookkeeping term for supplied research and interview records.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter observedOptions, requiredOptions, missingCodes. Keep parallel arrays aligned. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read unrepresented, explicitlyMissing. Use the output convention below.

Count distinct requiredOptions absent from observedOptions as unrepresented and count observed occurrences matching missingCodes as explicitlyMissing.1

Input fieldMeaning and unitsAccepted input
observedOptionsObserved OptionsRequired. Array of text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192; maximum items 256.
requiredOptionsRequired OptionsRequired. Array of text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192; maximum items 256.
missingCodesMissing CodesRequired. Array of text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192; maximum items 256.
Output fieldInterpretationReturned shape
unrepresentedNumber of distinct required options absent from observations.Required. Safe integer.
explicitlyMissingNumber of observed missing-code occurrences, including duplicates.Required. Safe integer.

Limitations and assumptions

  • Unrepresented counts unique option labels while explicitlyMissing counts rows. This is questionnaire metadata bookkeeping, not a validation of response content, instrument scoring, or clinical interpretation.
  • The field tables state structural bounds; the mechanics also specify cross-field constraints. Malformed inputs and unsupported domains cause errors. A successful false flag, empty branch value, or zero placeholder has the meaning stated above and is distinct from an input error.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Signed zero is exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use the relevant validated instrument and its documented missing-response and scoring procedures when the task requires an assessment. Verify research annotations and timing before combining record terms.
