Fetal Movement Count Tool

Deduplicate actual independently recorded movement-episode IDs, not infer unobserved movement, normal fetal activity or reassure about viability.

Description

A movement-episode inventory records independently distinguished observed events.

A movement-episode inventory records independently distinguished observed events.1

Counting exact unique identifiers does not detect movements or judge their clinical significance.

When to use Fetal Movement Count Tool

Use this tool to calculate or review the supplied observations under the stated rules. Establish the observation date, units, measurement context and independently applicable clinical reference or calibrated model.

How to use Fetal Movement Count Tool and understand its results

  1. Establish the observation date, units, measurement context and independently applicable clinical reference or calibrated model.
  2. Enter callerObservedMovementEpisodeIds, using the field meanings and rules below, then run the tool.
  3. Read result.distinctObservedMovementEpisodeCount, result.distinctObservedMovementEpisodeIds. Use the units and sign conventions below.
  4. Correct any reported input issue and run again. Before using a successful result, check the stated units, signs, reference scope and observation coverage.
Input fieldMeaningValue typeRequirement
callerObservedMovementEpisodeIdsCaller observed movement episode idslist of stringRequired

Supply a list of nonblank observed movement-episode IDs. Duplicate exact strings are accepted and deduplicated in first-occurrence order; IDs are not trimmed or fuzzy-matched. An empty list returns an empty inventory and zero count.

distinctIds=firstOccurrenceUnique(episodeIds); distinctCount=distinctIds.length

Use the matching field units and the exact boundary, ordering and reference rules above.

Limitations and assumptions

Dating evidence, acquisition conditions and applicable clinical references remain independently established. The output describes supplied observations or a conditional model without diagnosing an outcome, choosing a dose or verifying clinical applicability.

Missing required fields, unknown fields, wrong types and violated rules return input issues. Numeric values and outputs must be finite. Lists and matrices must be dense, without missing cells. Numeric lists allow at most 10000 entries; ordinary string lists allow at most 128 strings of 128 UTF-16 units each; numeric matrices allow at most 128 rows and 128 columns, subject to narrower requirements above. Extremely large composite outputs are rejected.

Alternative or Complementary methods

For a related step, use Quickening Week Calculator: Quickening refers to the first perceived fetal movements. For a complementary comparison, use Kick Count Per Hour Calculator: A movement count per hour standardizes an observed count by its actual observation duration.
