Shade Key RGB Distance Nearest Match Finder
Find all exact Euclidean ties in caller common normalized encoded RGB; not perceptual color difference or catalogue attribution. Caller independently verifies observations, reference edition, units and applicability; not a grading-service certificate, authentication, conservation treatment, actual market price or legal/insurance entitlement.
Description
A shade key can be compared numerically when both observations and references share the same encoded RGB basis.
A shade key can be compared numerically when both observations and references share the same encoded RGB basis.1
This matcher returns every nearest exact tie in that numeric space, rather than a perceptual color difference or catalogue attribution.
When to use Shade Key RGB Distance Nearest Match Finder
Use this tool when you need to summarize the supplied collecting records or matched observations. Prepare independently verified observations, reference edition/context, and matching units or currency basis.
How to use Shade Key RGB Distance Nearest Match Finder and understand its results
- Prepare independently verified observations, reference edition/context, and matching units or currency basis.
- Enter callerShadeIds, callerMatchedRgbCoordinates, observedRgbCoordinates, following the field table and calculation rules below, then run the tool.
- Read nearestCallerIds, minimumDeclaredSpaceDistance. For result objects, inspect the nested output fields below, including any missing evidence or selected indices.
- Correct any input issues and run again. Before using a successful result, review its units, signs, evidence coverage, and stated model or reference assumptions.
| Input field | Meaning | Value type | Requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| callerShadeIds | Caller shade ids | list of string | Required |
| callerMatchedRgbCoordinates | Caller matched rgb coordinates | numeric matrix | Required |
| observedRgbCoordinates | Observed rgb coordinates | list of number | Required |
Require unique nonblank shade IDs and aligned three-component reference rows, plus a three-component query. Every RGB component must be in [0,1]. Compute Euclidean distance with hypot and retain every ID whose distance exactly equals the minimum; no color-space conversion or tolerance is applied.
distance_i=sqrt(Σ_j(reference_ij−observed_j)²) Read these symbols with the field meanings and branch or reference rules above.
| Output field | Meaning | Value type |
|---|---|---|
| nearestCallerIds | Nearest caller ids | list of string |
| minimumDeclaredSpaceDistance | Minimum declared space distance | number |

} Limitations and assumptions
Observations, reference edition, and applicability are independently supplied. Arithmetic and reference summaries do not provide authentication, a certified grade, or an actual market price.
Missing required fields, unknown fields, wrong types, and violated calculation rules return input issues. Numeric values must be finite; nonfinite numeric outputs are rejected. Arrays must be dense, with no missing cells. Numeric lists allow at most 10000 entries, subject to smaller tool-specific bounds above. Ordinary string lists allow at most 128 strings of at most 128 UTF-16 units each. Numeric matrices allow at most 128 rows and 128 entries per row, with exact shape requirements stated above.
Alternative or Complementary methods
For a related task, use Color Shade Chameleon Variation Name Normalizer: Color shade names can vary across reference editions and collecting contexts. This normalizer retrieves a caller-provided canonical name for an exact alias key, without fuzzy matching or measuring color. For a complementary step, use Catalogue Value Base Lookup by Number Entry: A catalogue base value belongs to a specific edition, currency, issue, and condition convention. This lookup returns the minor-unit amount paired with an exact supplied key, without retrieving a current catalogue.
