FIP Medal Threshold Points Mapper (95-60)
Map observed exhibit points to caller independently verified FIP edition/category half-open medal thresholds; overlapping matches retained. Caller independently verifies observations, reference edition, units and applicability; not a grading-service certificate, authentication, conservation treatment, actual market price or legal/insurance entitlement.
Description
Exhibition medal thresholds depend on the applicable class, rules, and reference period.
Exhibition medal thresholds depend on the applicable class, rules, and reference period.1
This mapper finds supplied half-open score bands and retains every matching medal label, including overlapping references.
When to use FIP Medal Threshold Points Mapper (95-60)
Use this tool when you need to summarize the supplied collecting records or matched observations. Prepare independently verified observations, reference edition/context, and matching units or currency basis.
How to use FIP Medal Threshold Points Mapper (95-60) and understand its results
- Prepare independently verified observations, reference edition/context, and matching units or currency basis.
- Enter observedPoints, callerVerifiedThresholdLower, callerVerifiedThresholdUpper, callerVerifiedMedalLabels, following the field table and calculation rules below, then run the tool.
- Read matchingCallerMedalLabels. For result objects, inspect the nested output fields below, including any missing evidence or selected indices.
- Correct any input issues and run again. Before using a successful result, review its units, signs, evidence coverage, and stated model or reference assumptions.
| Input field | Meaning | Value type | Requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| observedPoints | Observed points | number | Required |
| callerVerifiedThresholdLower | Caller verified threshold lower | list of number | Required |
| callerVerifiedThresholdUpper | Caller verified threshold upper | list of number | Required |
| callerVerifiedMedalLabels | Caller verified medal labels | list of string | Required |
Supply a finite observed points value and nonempty aligned lower limits, upper limits, and labels. Require each lower strictly below its upper; include a label when lower≤points<upper. No built-in FIP thresholds or one hundred-point range are assumed; no match returns an empty list.
matchingLabels={label_i:lower_i≤points<upper_i} Read these symbols with the field meanings and branch or reference rules above.
| Output field | Meaning | Value type |
|---|---|---|
| matchingCallerMedalLabels | Matching caller medal labels | list of string |

Observations, reference edition, and applicability are independently supplied. Arithmetic and reference summaries do not provide authentication, a certified grade, or an actual market price.
Missing required fields, unknown fields, wrong types, and violated calculation rules return input issues. Numeric values must be finite; nonfinite numeric outputs are rejected. Arrays must be dense, with no missing cells. Numeric lists allow at most 10000 entries, subject to smaller tool-specific bounds above. Ordinary string lists allow at most 128 strings of at most 128 UTF-16 units each.
Alternative or Complementary methods
For a related task, use Exhibit Condition Philatelic Significance Weighted Score: An exhibit significance score can combine criteria with explicitly chosen weights. This calculator averages only known weighted observations and separately reports how much of the total weight was assessed. For a complementary step, use Exhibit Treatment Plan Coverage Percent Scorer: Exhibit coverage can be weighted by the relative importance of specified treatment areas. This scorer separates witnessed coverage from the weight of unassessed areas, so unknown entries do not count as covered.
