Pill Count Adherence Percentage Calculator
Pill count apparent use percentage of actual independently expected consumption, known lost/discarded units separate; can exceed100or negative for inconsistent ledger. Possession count not proof of ingestion or safe adherence. All patient/product/route/units and applicable inputs independently clinically established; no dose, route, frequency, eligibility, titration, diagnosis or permission to administer is supplied.
Description
A pill-count estimate reconciles dispensed and carried-in inventory against remaining inventory and known losses.
A pill-count estimate reconciles dispensed and carried-in inventory against remaining inventory and known losses.1
This tool expresses the implied consumption as a percentage of an independently established expected amount, without proving ingestion.
When to use Pill Count Adherence Percentage Calculator
This tool expresses the implied consumption as a percentage of an independently established expected amount, without proving ingestion.
How to use Pill Count Adherence Percentage Calculator and how it works
- Prepare dispensed units, carried in units, returned remaining units, known non adherence loss units, clinician expected consumed units, using the input definitions and matching units below.
- Enter the required fields and run Pill Count Adherence Percentage Calculator.
- Read result.value using the units, signs and ordering explained below.
- Correct any rejected inputs and rerun; interpret the result within the stated model and its assumptions.
| Input field | Meaning | Value type | Requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| actualDispensedUnits | Actual Dispensed Units. Use the units and matching context stated in the calculation below. | number | Required; nonnegative; finite; other constraints below |
| actualCarriedInUnits | Actual Carried In Units. Use the units and matching context stated in the calculation below. | number | Required; nonnegative; finite; other constraints below |
| actualReturnedRemainingUnits | Actual Returned Remaining Units. Use the units and matching context stated in the calculation below. | number | Required; nonnegative; finite; other constraints below |
| actualKnownNonAdherenceLossUnits | Actual Known Non Adherence Loss Units. Use the units and matching context stated in the calculation below. | number | Required; nonnegative; finite; other constraints below |
| callerClinicianExpectedConsumedUnits | Caller Clinician Expected Consumed Units. Use the units and matching context stated in the calculation below. | number | Required; strictly positive; finite; other constraints below |
Require nonnegative dispensed, carried-in, returned remaining and known-loss counts, and positive expected consumed count. Subtract remaining inventory and known losses from dispensed plus carried-in inventory, then divide by expected consumption and multiply by 100. Return a percentage without clamping; inconsistent ledgers can produce negative values or values above 100. The arithmetic does not prove ingestion.
percentage=100*(dispensed+carryIn-remaining-knownLoss)/expected Apply the input ordering, units and branch conditions stated above.

} Limitations and assumptions
Patient context, drug formulation, route, sampling time, assay units and applicable clinician-verified protocol must be independently established. The output supplies no dosing, titration, switching or administration instruction.
The calculation uses the supplied observations and model inputs. It does not collect measurements, select a reference population or coefficient, or establish that the model applies to the actual case. The stated branch conditions and output units remain part of the result.
All fields require explicit values. Unexpected fields, wrong types, nonfinite numbers and sparse arrays are rejected. Alignment, bounds and supported-token rules are explained above; extremely large inputs or nonfinite results can also fail. Input errors differ from successful false comparisons, unavailable-domain flags and empty match lists.
