Description
Scale a supplied nonclinical occupancy contribution with an explicit response unit, reusing occupancy notation arithmetic and allowing a signed response scale.
A pharmacodynamic model relates an exposure or occupancy measure to a response under explicitly supplied parameters. Baseline, maximum increment, half-maximal concentration, effect direction, and observation windows have distinct meanings. Evaluating one model term does not fit the curve or establish its clinical validity.
Scale a supplied nonclinical occupancy contribution with an explicit response unit, reusing occupancy notation arithmetic and allowing a signed response scale.
When to use this tool
Use Receptor Occupancy Scale Term when you need this particular response-model term, scale conversion, panel duration, or support calculation.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter suppliedOccupancy, valueIsPercent, responseScale, responseUnit. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read fraction, contribution, unit. Use the output convention below.
Require nonempty responseUnit, convert suppliedOccupancy through the occupancy-notation operation using valueIsPercent, and return fraction, contribution=fraction*responseScale, and unit=responseUnit.1
The linked occupancy-notation operation converts the supplied percent or fractional representation before the response-scale multiplication.2
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| suppliedOccupancy | Supplied Occupancy | Required. Finite number. |
| valueIsPercent | Value Is Percent | Required. Boolean. |
| responseScale | Signed scale in the stated response unit for full fractional occupancy. | Required. Finite number. |
| responseUnit | Nonempty literal response-unit label; not validated or converted. | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| fraction | Dimensionless fraction under the stated basis. | Required. Finite number. |
| contribution | Contribution | Required. Finite number. |
| unit | Preserved supplied unit label. | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- ResponseScale may be signed and the unit string is preserved without validation or conversion. Multiplying occupancy by a supplied scale is not a validated receptor-effect relationship or a clinical response prediction.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Signed zero is exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use a fitted and validated response model when a supplied local term is insufficient. Check exposure units, response direction, baseline, model assumptions, and observation support before comparing effects.
